Highlights:Factory Built 360 V8 EngineRecent Teal Blue
ResprayOriginal InteriorUnder the hood roars a 360 cubic inch V8
engine, the largest available in 1980, now further empowered by an
upgraded Holley Brawler carburetor. This enhancement amplifies its
original 155 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with a 3-Speed
Automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive Quadra-Trac
NP210 transfer case, power seamlessly distributes to both front and
rear axles. The brake master cylinder was recently replaced to keep
the front power disc brakes stopping effectively. The recent Teal
Blue respray, matching the factory original Jeep color code (OJ),
beautifully complements the well-preserved interior. Speaking of
which, the original upholstery stands the test of time and remains
in nice condition. The interior floorpans have been bedlined for
noise reduction and to eliminate the need for carpet. Notable
factory options include power windows, power steering, power
brakes, air conditioning, full-time four-wheel drive, rear defrost,
and a rear roll-down window.Driving this Cherokee, paired with an
automatic transmission, offers a smooth and comfortable experience.
The Yokohama Geolander AT tires, sized at 33x12.50x15, mounted on
white 7-spoke wheels, not only enhance its aesthetic appeal but
also promise exceptional traction and durability across various
terrains.Inside the cabin, the original charm persists,
complemented by power windows, air conditioning, and a set of Bosch
aftermarket gauges?voltmeter, oil pressure, and coolant
temperature?providing crucial data for a seamless journey. The
recent repaint revives its appearance, while the rebuilt upgraded
carburator elevates its performance, blending classic design with
modern enhancements.Recent maintenance includes replacements such
as the brake master cylinder, battery, battery cables, and rebuilt
carburetor. The fuel tank was removed from the vehicle, inspected,
and cleaned with new grommets installed and all new fuel lines. The
Cherokee starts, runs, shifts, and stops. It has been sitting in
storage for several years. We drove it here locally around our shop
and for pictures and video. As a result of the extended storage, it
should be assumed the Cherokee will require additional mechanical
attention before being driven safely on open roads. Please contact
us to review our mechanical inspection.Harking back to its roots,
the Jeep Cherokee was a sporty, two-door version of the Wagoneer,
catering to younger, adventurous drivers with its bucket seats,
sporty steering wheel, and distinctive detailing. Its historical
accolades include being the first vehicle to clinch Four Wheeler
magazine's Achievement Award, now known as the Four Wheeler of the
Year award, back in February 1974.This vehicle stands as a
testament to its era, encapsulating vintage design with enduring
functionality?a cherished piece for enthusiasts who appreciate the
timeless allure of a true classic.
