The original Willy Jeepster had highway driving limitations; this particular vehicle suffered a blown engine sometime back in the 60s. A Chevrolet 235 straight six was chosen for this vintage "resto-mod" project; I added a Borg Warner T5 overdrive transmission from a Chevy S-10 to the drive train to really make this an extraordinary "road trip" cruiser vehicle capable of highway speeds. My mother had this exact engine in her car, and that is where I began developing my mechanical skills. It was very nostalgic for me to go through all the vehicle systems on this Jeepster during my 5 years of ownership.
