This stunning 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner is pure muscle car in every
way. Plymouth introduced the B-body Road Runner in 1968 stripped of
all the frills of its stablemate, the top-of-the-line GTX. The
concept of a low-price, freshly-styled car with a powerful engine
capable of running the quarter-mile at 100-mph was brilliant
marketing aimed squarely at younger buyers looking for a
performance bargain. The Road Runner was quickly embraced as a
clean, non-frill performance car by this group.
Finished brilliantly in one of Mopar's most famous colors, B5 Blue
Fire Metallic, the deep gloss of the paint is accented with black
stripes on this arrow-straight classic muscle car. Enhancing its
already great looks is a set a 17-inch American Racing wheels that
resemble the original Magnum 500 wheels wrapped with redline Atlas
Force UHP performance tires staggered 245/45R17 front and 275/40R17
for just the right stance.
Owing to the success of the 1968 Road Runner, Plymouth decided to
increase the choices for 1969, offering bucket seats as an option,
which this car was ordered with. The stock blue interior looks
great and features an optional center console with floor shifter as
well. Originally this Roadrunner was ordered with air conditioning
which is no longer present, however the correct and original air
conditioning dash vents and controls remain if one wanted to
install it again at a later date.
