Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 2004 Pontiac GTO with
3,073 actual miles for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. Pontiac
introduced the all-new 2004 GTO, a modern reincarnation of a
performance legend. Visceral; felt, as in the gut; deep; dealing
with elemental emotions. Wicked; going beyond reasonable or
predictable limits. Relentless; showing or promising no abatement
of severity or intensity. Engrossing; taking up the attention
completely. Style; a particular manner or technique by which
something is done. Introducing a car that needs no
introduction.
Part of the explanation, of course, is that the GTO is no ordinary
Pontiac. The car is based on the Monaro, a popular and athletic
rear-drive coupe built by GM subsidiary Holden in Australia. And,
in fact, all GTOs were assembled Down Under.
The cabin features Anthracite leather upholstery with GTO lettering
embroidered on the front seat backs. Aluminum-look trim and
contrasting yellow stitching accent the leather-wrapped emergency
brake handle, the shift knob, and the steering wheel. Additional
amenities include power-adjustable front seats, rear bucket seats,
air conditioning, cruise control, and a factory Blaupunkt CD
changer. Yellow-faced instrumentation includes a 200-mph
speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline as well as
gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer
shows 3,073 miles.
The GTO is finished in Yellow Jacket (D153) over black leather and
is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic
transmission. There were only 658 produced with the combination.
Features include front fog lights, dual hood scoops, body-colored
mirror caps, a rear spoiler, and chrome-tipped dual exhaust
outlets. Fit and finish are the finest we've seen, the body emits
not a squeak, gaps are tight and uniform. The GTO is so tastefully
subdued, it'll surely disappoint those expecting big muscle
treatment. Yet, the muscle is there for those who appreciate
subtlety.
Factory 17? five-spoke alloy wheels wear 245/45 BFGoodrich g-Force
T/A tires, and a temporary spare tire and wheel are stored in the
trunk. Standard equipment includes four-wheel independent
suspension, traction control, and ventilated disc brakes at each
corner.
So, the 2004 GTO isn't the rip-snorting, retro-themed muscle
machine many die-hards may have been waiting for. We're not
disappointed. What GM has delivered instead is a superbly crafted,
tastefully styled, muscled grand-touring vehicle that stimulates
your brain, and not your kidneys. Don't miss out on this beautiful
2004 GTO, call Classic Car Addict today at 480-256-1459.
