This 1965 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was acquired by the owner in 2005 and underwent refurbishment work that was completed in 2016. Power is provided by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in yellow over tan leather, the car is equipped with a tan soft top and matching top boot, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a retro-style radio.
The car was refinished in Pale Primrose following the replacement of sheet metal. The glass and tan soft top were replaced, and exterior trim pieces were re-chromed. A tan top boot and enclosed headlights are also fitted.
Replacement 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The suspension and braking systems were overhauled during the refurbishment.
The refreshed interior features bucket seats upholstered in tan leather, which is complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, and a retro-style head unit. The heater system was overhauled as part of the refurbishment.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. Work during the 2016 refurbishment included rebuilding the engine, grinding the crankshaft, machining the cylinder heads, rebuilding the carburetors, re-coring the radiator, and replacing the fuel pump and lines.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A clutch kit was installed and the hydraulic cylinders were replaced during the refurbishment.
