1961 Volkswagen Beetle Ragtop - Killer build on the iconic and loveable cult classic! Super solid and stylish example of a genuine ragtop Bug that underwent a full restoration with modern day drive-ability in mind! Powered by a rebuilt 1915cc engine packed full of performance upgrades such as ported/polished heads, MAHLE forged pistons, ENGLE 120 cam, Weber dual-carb setup, BERU ignition system, custom dual exhaust and a new full length wiring harness. The 4-speed manual gearbox has been swapped in from a 1968 Karmin Ghia along with the trans-axle to allow a little more torque and better 4.12 rear-end ratio, making cruising at highway speeds actually enjoyable. Front brakes have also been upgraded to a power disc system and the suspension has been lowered with a 5" narrow kit up front and adjustable spring plates in the rear. A set of 15" EMPI wheels with radial tires really finish off the stance nicely. Car runs out excellent and is an absolute blast to drive. Exterior has been stunningly finished in a specialty Jeep Wrangler color called "Rescue Green" and has a really nice flip-flop flake appeal that truly dances in the sunlight. Excellent trim and authentic chrome bumpers adorned with the accessory guards. The sliding ragtop is in great shape, functions perfectly and has been upgraded using a high-end Hartz Cloth material. The factory optioned "wing windows" open easily and add some more ventilation for those seasonally comfortable days. Interior contrasts beautifully in the correct Brown vinyl tones with white trim throughout. A full berber carpet kit has been installed from front to back topped off with factory style rubber floor mats to protect it all. Everything works in the car including the Bendix Sapphire AM/FM radio. Car is very detailed from top to bottom and clean as a whistle inside/out. Body was sandblasted down to bare metal with very minimal rust repair needed. All factory body tags are still in-tact, original underseat VIN is visible and all of the floors/pans were replaced with new metal at time of restoration. These cars have always been popular but often viewed as an option for the minimalist motorheads.
