chrome on the exterior from the bumpers to the rocker panels and
trimming around all the windows and doors. The interior of this
huge sedan is beautiful light blue from the bench seats to the
headliner as well as the door panels and carpets. Under the massive
hood was Oldsmobile's standard engine, the 455 Rocket V8 paired to
a 3-speed automatic transmission. The 1969 Ninety-Eight remained
the top-of-the-line Oldsmobile. It was the largest Oldsmobile
product offered. Six body styles were now available with a hardtop
version of the Luxury Sedan added to the lineup. New to the
Ninety-Eight series were a recessed padded instrument panel,
anti-theft lock within the steering column, rear view mirror map
light, mini-buckle seat belts, and deeply padded head restraints.
