3 owner local car! Purchased new at F.H. Dailey Motor Co. in
Oakland, Ca. on 10/17/1967. Factory black on black. The long time
second owner enjoyed the car and used it regularly. Approx. 9 years
ago he took the car off the road to take care of some visual and
mechanical needs and he basically ended up doing a frame-on
restoration. The body was stripped to bare metal and treated to a
beautiful and straight as an arrow black paint job by the owner who
happened to be a professional car painter. He added an SS hood,
bucket seats, console, tilt column, factory gauge package and
Custom Autosound stereo.
Originally a 283 engine with Powerglide transmission, now a 327 4
bbl V8 with a 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. Power 4
wheel disc brakes. Front and rear suspensions were rebuilt
including shocks and springs. Rearend was rebuilt and Dutchman 3:73
posi gears were added. 3C Fab fully boxed rear control arms. Gas
tank and exhaust system were replaced. Chevrolet rallye wheels with
BF Goodrich tires.
He enjoyed taking the car to local shows until his passing upon
which the car was sold to the current owner, a long time family
friend in 2021. He has now decided to sell the car due to the fact
that he just has too many cars and not enough time to enjoy them
all. Currently registered with a clean California title in-hand.
Runs and drives great. Beautiful El Camino..
