LOOKS, MODERN DRIVABILITY & PERFORMANCE The gorgeous product of a
4-year restoration with a myriad of choice modifications, this
custom 1969 Volkswagen Beetle was completed in 2023 by Burnett's
Auto Repair and Motorsports in Clovis, California. Repainted in
Stonewashed Blue Metallic paint, the Beetle's body, fenders and
doors were bead blasted and electrostatically primed in preparation
for paint. The powder coated chassis features Wolfsburg West
replacement floor pans and a reinforced clutch tube. Underneath the
Beetle's Gray vinyl interior with heated bucket seats and the
handsome salt-and-pepper tweed carpeting, Dynamat sound deadening
was mounted throughout the passenger compartment for a quiet and
comfortable ride under any conditions. The upgraded electrical
system includes a blade-style replacement fuse box and convenient
LED lighting added below the dashboard and inside the glovebox. An
aftermarket 3-spoke steering wheel, Iditit tilt steering column,
and new Vintage USA gauges greet the driver while a Retrosound
Motor 4 stereo unit delivers the tunes. Fully upgraded mechanicals
include the 2,110cc flat 4-cylinder engine, equipped with an EMPI
82mm stroker crankshaft and rods, plus 90.5mm pistons and cylinders
and EMPI GTV-2 Stage 1 wedge port cylinder heads with 40mm intake
and 35.5mm exhaust valves, actuated by a Steve Long Racing camshaft
and lifters. Lubrication is via a full-flow oil system with
electric cooling fan and CB Performance oil pump. Dual Weber 44 IDF
carburetors with EMPI linkage feed the port-matched intake with
fuel delivered by an electric pump and spark provided by an MSD
ignition system. Spent gases are removed by a stainless steel EMPI
side-flow exhaust. A Bergman Porsche-style fan kit ensures cool
running. Power is sent to the road by a replacement 4-speed manual
transaxle from Rancho Transaxles in Fullerton, California including
3.88 ratio gears and a lightweight eight-dowel flywheel. Gear
selection is via an EMPI Billet Plus shifter. Chassis upgrades
include Sway-A-Away torsion axles, a Mendeolo Kfer bar, EMPI
2.5-inch drop spindles, and an Airkewld PRObuilt narrowed
adjustable beam axle. Improved braking is delivered by an Airkewld
4-wheel disc brake conversion using Wilwood 2-piston calipers,
braided steel lines and BAD-series cross-drilled rotors with 5x130
bolt pattern. While the Beetle's many other updates and upgrades
are far too extensive to list here completely, they include a
locking fuel cap, rubber-trimmed running boards, an Airkewld
PRObuilt shift linkage inspection plate, a third brake light added
inside the vent below the rear window, LED headlights with halo
turn signals and running lights, early-style fender-mounted turn
signals, European-specification taillight lenses, chrome
blade-style bumpers, and a Porsche space-saver spare. Rolling stock
includes a set of staggered three-piece, 17-inch Airkewld PRObuilt
"smoothie" wheels, mounting 205/40 front and 205/45 rear Kumho
Ecsta radial tires. Ready to show and enjoy, this beautifully
restored, built, and finished 1969 Volkswagen Beetle custom is an
exciting find for any true enthusiast. Be sure to call us today for
