Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this rare Factory 4 Speed Trans Am with its numbers matching Pontiac 301 engine with very low actual miles of 9065. 1503 1979 Trans Am's were produced with factory 4 speed and 301 Pontiac engine with factory Fisher T Tops. This car is very special because it still retains its numbers matching original Pontiac 301 engine and 4 speed manual transmission with matching vin stamps. This TA is in mostly original condition and comes in a very unique color combination of Nocturne Blue over Black interior. This TA was owned by the same owner for over 20 years and he added less than 1000 miles in that time frame. This TA features believed to be original paint with original decals, an original Black deluxe cloth interior, and the numbers matching 301 Pontiac engine and numbers matching 4 speed manual transmission. This TA is very solid with great lines and gaps. There is no visible rust on the body or underside of this car, and no bubbling paint anywhere. This TA is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Nocturne Blue (code 29) over Black deluxe cloth interior code. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and factory build sheet pictured above. The Miles are stated as "Actual" on the clean Ohio title. A factory original build sheet was found in the car while detailing which validates this special TA. This TA was ordered with factory 4 wheel disk brakes.
Exterior
The Blue exterior is in mostly original condition. This TA is believed to have original paint with original decals, emblems and moldings and shows well with consistent paint around the car. The paint is in overall good condition for its age and still shows well and has a good shine and gloss. Both bumpers are in great shape and the front bumper grills are in great condition. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are like new and have great tread left and are sized 235/60/15 and the wheels are in good condition with no curb rash and the center caps and lug nuts are in good shape. All weather stripping, window sweeps, door seals, t tops seals, and trunk seal are in good shape. The trunk is very solid and very clean with a full size spare tire, jack and original trunk mat. The underside of this TA is outstanding and extremely solid and rust free. The metal is very clean and there are several factory tags still in place and several factory markings still in tact which is usually only seen on legit low mile cars. There are no rust concerns and no prior rust repairs from previous issues. The underside of this TA is in beautiful unrestored condition.
Interior
The Black deluxe cloth interior of this Trans AM is in mostly original terrific condition. The seat covers are original and in great shape and are comfortable and the seat foam is supportive. The carpet is like new with no issues. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or warping or fading. The dash bezel is in great condition as well. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in great shape. The package tray is original and in good shape with upgraded 6x9 speakers. The stereo was changed to a modern digital Kenwood unit with new speakers and sounds and works great. All interior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds all work. Even the clock works which is rarely the case.
Mechanical
This TA is in good mechanical condition and most importantly the original numbers matching Pontiac 301 engine and transmission are still in the car, see vin stamp photos of both above. This TA runs and drives well, it rides tight, drives strait down the road, does not run hot, and drives great. The engine bay still shows a lot of originality and is stock in appearance and still has many original factory tags and markings. The upgraded factory 4 wheel disk brakes work as they should with no pulling from side to side. The exhaust appears to be factory original and all pieces are still in place and functional. The factory catalytic converter is still in place. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay area and adds to performance. A new fuel pump was recently added. Heater core has been bypassed. This TA has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and has been garaged all its life and shows well. The outstanding original condition of this TA and the way it drives is a true testament to the prior owners care and love for this special car. This TA is truly the one to have being a low production car with the factory 4 speed manual transmission. Very few of these cars were made and very few are still original and very few are in factory Nocturne Blue paint.
