Audi in Wilmington, California. Finished in its original color
combination, Grand Prix White (R4), over Black partial leather. The
engine and transmission are matching per Certificate of
Authenticity. Dealer-performed services are recorded in the
Warranty & Maintenance booklet from June 6, 1981, with 39 miles, to
May 1, 1986, with 48,817 miles. Factory optional equipment includes
California emissions, cruise control, and an electric mirror.
The paintwork is in excellent condition, complemented by a black
Targa bar, a black removable Targa top, and black trim. The black
interior is in exceptional condition, with a black dash, Blaupunkt
AM/FM cassette radio, a VDM steering wheel, CoCo mats, and cold air
conditioning. The Fuchs alloy wheels have been refinished and
mounted to Bridgestone Potenza Sport 205 55 ZR16 front and 225 50
ZR16 rear tires (date coded 2021).
Scott's Independent in Anaheim, California serviced this 911SC from
1987 to 2015; over $16,000 was spent. On March 11, 1997, at 73,214
miles, Scott's Independent performed a $6,020 engine out service
including a valve job, replacing the exhaust valves and the head
studs. While the engine was out, a Carrera chain tensioner upgrade
was installed, the clutch and throw-out bearing were replaced, the
flywheel was resurfaced, a new engine sound pad was installed, the
rear main shaft seal was replaced, the throttle bushings were
replaced, the oil and filter were changed, a new distributor, cap
and rotor were replaced, new AC belt, alternator belt, oxygen
sensor, catalytic converter, and muffler were installed. On August
2, 2016, DriverSource in Houston, Texas did a major service at
87,287 miles, the braking system was gone through, and the front
brake calipers and all four brake lines were replaced and flushed
brake fluid. Replaced camshaft housing oil line, performed annual
maintenance, replaced oil and oil filter, replaced air intake
filter, and converted AC system to R134. Lufteknic in Richmond,
Virginia has serviced this 911SC from 2021 to 2023 and has
performed annual services and additional work including brake
flush, new Bilstein shocks and struts, shifter coupler, and shift
rod bushings were replaced, and four (4) Bridgestone Potenza Sport
205 55 R16 front and 245 45 R16 rear tires were installed in 2022.
Most recently, the air conditioning system has been serviced and a
new compressor was recently replaced,
Mechanically, the 3.0-liter air-cooled flat-six engine (Type
930/16) produces 180 horsepower @ 5,500 rpm with 175 foot-pounds
torque @ 4,200 rpm. A five-speed manual 915 transmission (Type
915/63) drives power to the rear wheels with a four-wheel disc
braking system. In excellent mechanical condition, this 911 is
turn-key and ready to enjoy. Complete with a date-coded collapsible
spare wheel, original service booklet, owner's manual, Blaupunkt
radio manual, and a clean Carfax. This is an excellent opportunity
to acquire an incredibly well-maintained 911SC finished in its
original color combination.
