For Sale: 1937 Rolls-Royce 25/30 Limousine
This exquisite 1937 Rolls-Royce is one of approximately 1,200 25/30 models built between 1936 and 1938. A right-hand-drive example, it boasts elegant enclosed limousine coachwork by the renowned Barker & Co. of London. Originally ordered by a London-based owner in July 1936, this distinguished vehicle was later imported to the US under previous ownership.
Details:
- Exterior: The car is finished in a striking red and black, repainted in its current colors in 2018. It features a polished grille adorned with the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, dual horns, a single driving light, trafficators, running boards, and rear-hinged doors.
- Interior: The front cabin offers a split bench seat trimmed in black leather, with matching door panels and color-coordinated carpets. The wood dash panel complements the door caps, and the three-spoke steering wheel fronts Rolls-Royce-branded instrumentation, including an 80-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and a clock. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, with approximately 10 miles added under current ownership. The rear cabin, reupholstered in red cloth, features a bench seat, jump seats, a headliner, and door panels, along with black carpets and Rolls-Royce-branded mats. Additional amenities include a wood-trimmed cabin divider with sliding windows, an inset cabinet with a clock, rear ashtrays, a fold-down armrest, and a buzzer system to alert the driver.
- Mechanical: Powered by a rebuilt 4.3-liter inline-six engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The engine rebuild was completed by Randy Herrick of Topeka, Kansas, in 2009. The car includes servo-assisted mechanical drum brakes, 19" wire wheels with Rolls-Royce-branded knock-off hubs, and 6.50–19 Custom Classic bias-ply tires. Suspension is handled by semi-elliptical leaf springs at all four corners. The car features a side-mount spare wheel and includes a matching spare stowed in the right fender.
Issues:
- The windshield wipers are non-functional, and the doors do not lock. The original key is missing, and the current key cannot be removed from the ignition.
Extras:
- Offered with a copy of the factory order sheet, partial service records, a custom wheel hub removal kit, a car cover, and a clean California title in the name of the seller’s company.
