Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1962 Chevrolet
C-10 Step-side Pick-up. This first gen C-10 is a great
driver-quality example that you can just hop in and take anywhere.
This C-10 comes to us with jet black paint on the body and grey
paint atop the cab seperated by a thin red pinstripe to make the
transition pop. The paint is driver quality, with some checking,
cracking, nicks, and swirls as well as some rust bubbling on the
lower rear of the passenger side fender and the door rocker. If you
don't drive it in the rain this imperfection will stay a non-issue
for years to come. The front end of the truck is vintage cool with
a chrome eggcrate grille flanked by round headlights with bright
bezels, a nice chrome bumper, and turn signals mounted at the
corners of the wide hood. Bowtie "10" badges adorn both fenders and
the cab B-pillars each sport Custom Cab decorative trim molding.
The gas cap is still in it's original location on the drivers side
of the cab. The drivers side also features a black side-view
mirror. The bed is topped with a black vinyl tonneau cover held on
by velcro and beneath it you'll find a wood slat bed floor that is
solid, but could use refinishing for appearance. Also in the bed is
a black painted diamond-plate tool box - a nice extra! Another
bright chrome bumper graces the rear of the truck and above it is a
tailgate with white "Chevrolet" lettering and hook chain closures.
Completing the very cool period look is a set of black steel wheels
with bowtie stamped moon caps and beauty rings all framed by a set
of Hankook Optimo tires - a perfect choice!
Lift the hood to find a flat black engine bay with DynaMat lining
the firewall. At the heart is a 350ci V-8 topped with a Team G
Intake, Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel carburetor, chrome valve
covers, and chrome air cleaner. Exhaust travels through cast
manifolds to a single pipe and muffler before exiting at the rear.
A chrome alternator adds to the look while a newer power brake
booster and dual reservoir add to the stopping power of the front
discs and rear drums. The V-8 is mated to a TH350 3-speed automatic
transmission and a 10-bolt rear axle, making for a great
all-purpose drivetrain.
Inside the rather spartan cab is a comfortable grey cloth and vinyl
bench seat and nice quality black carpet. The doors are black
painted steel with a white painted center-section where on the
drivers side you'll find a grey armrest. The door color scheme
continues onto the black painted steel dash where white accents on
the glovebox and gauge bezel add an attractive contrast. Flanking
the 100mph speedometer are warning lights for temp, gen, and oil as
well as a fuel gauge. Beneath the speedo are knobs for the lights
and working 2-speed wipers (as well as an obsolete choke pull and
inop. cigarette lighter). In the center of the dash are controls
for the heater (heat works, fan does not) and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD
stereo that plays your favorite cruisin tunes through speakers in
the front kick panels. Ahead of the driver is a white 2-spoke
steering wheel with working horn ring. Looking up you'll find that
this C-10 lacks a headliner, but does have 2 visors dressed in grey
fabric to match the seat.
This vintage C-10 has great bones and offers you the choice of
driving around in a cool old-school truck just the way it is, or
investing in taking it to the next level and having a show truck.
With its current drivetrain it is a freeway-worthy classic that's
ready to take you wherever you want to go. Wherever you do happen
to take this C-10, you're sure to get smiles and thumbs up all over
the place!
