Details
This custom 1968 Chevrolet Camaro has been crafted into a drag car that’s ready for the street or strip. This car has had extensive modifications under the hood, to the body, and in the cabin. Speed was top of mind in this build and it shows in all categories, from the engine to the trimmed fenders.
Powering this drag car is a monster purpose-built 632ci V8 Merlin engine with twin four-barrel Holley carburetors mounted on top. The engine is paired with a Powerglide transmission. Additional power is created with a two-stage NOS setup. The two-stage nitrous is integrated into the drivetrain controls, and at peak power with nitrous engaged, the motor creates a mind-boggling 1800hp. The interior is fitted with race seats that wear a Simpson racing harness. The dash was given a custom gauge and switch cluster and an aftermarket tachometer is mounted next to it. For safety and compliance, the car was given a six-point roll cage as well as wheelie bars and a drag parachute. Wilwood brakes were mounted to give the car more stopping power, and the rear quarter panels and inner front fenders were trimmed. The massive drag tires fit perfectly into custom tubbed rear wheel wells.
The black-on-black paint livery shows well in the third-party photos that were taken. Additionally, the car was inspected by a third-party to document the current condition of the vehicle. Buyers are encouraged to commission their own third-party inspection.
This Camaro is available in Decatur, TX, as a Premium Listing on CLASSIC.COM and is being sold by Robert Lewis.
