Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 25th year in the
classic and muscle car business. It's hard to believe that it's
been 60 years since Pontiac showed their GTO to the unsuspecting
public, firing what most enthusiasts agree to be the first shot in
what would become the muscle car wars. By dropping their full-size
389ci V8 into an affordable intermediate, Pontiac produced a car
with a favorable power-to-weight ratio that younger buyers wanted
desperately and could actually afford with an average job. Today,
most serious collectors have at least one GTO because it was the
progenitor of the muscle car. This stunning Cardinal Red 1970 GTO
is an excellent example of these historic muscle machines. Beneath
the iconic hood rests a stout Pontiac 462 V8 that's been fortified
with premium hardware including a Butler Performance stroker kit,
an Eagle crankshaft, Ross pistons, Eagle forged rods, a COMP Cams
hydraulic roller, D.U.I. distributor, ceramic coated Ram Air
exhaust manifolds, a Holley aluminum intake manifold, and an 800
cfm Edelbrock carburetor. These goodies combine to make an
effortless 425hp and 550 lb.-ft. of torque. Additional features
include power steering with a Borgeson quick ratio box, Wilwood
power 4-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, air
conditioning, 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with O/D, 3.23
Posi rear end, console, hood tach, QA1 tubular steel A-arms with
dual adjustable coilovers, 4-link rear with QA1 coilover kit and
dual adjustable shocks, front and rear stabilizer bars, new wiring
harnesses and brake lines, AM/FM/iPod stereo with Bluetooth and
Sirius capability, Lizardskin and Dynamat acoustic and thermal
insulation, and fresh 235/55R17 tires wrapped around 17 Rally
II-type alloy wheels. This is a magnificent frame-off restoration
that cruises comfortably at today's highway speeds, and in fact is
the most comfortable GTO that I've driven, and I've driven many.
One more top-shelf muscle legend from the team that can make your
dream a reality. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service
dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery, insurance, and
financing options.
