Vehicle Description
The fourth generation of Chevrolet's legendary Camaro Z28 was
introduced in 1993. This sporty, low-mileage 1996 Chevrolet Camaro
Z28 convertible illustrates why these 1993-2002 fourth-generation
Camaros were so popular when new and remain so today. Edmunds was
impressed enough with the Z28 to rave, "The Z is blazingly quick,
holds the road tenaciously, costs less than the average price of a
new car in this country, and gets decent gas mileage when it's not
being hammered along a twisty two-lane road."
With just 55,538 miles on the odometer, this unmodified Z28 is a
rare survivor with its original Bright Red paint and factory
16-inch alloy wheels still in place and in excellent condition.
This Camaro has a new convertible top. The interior is well
equipped and features optional black leather seats, power windows,
power locks, power mirrors, a tilt steering column, cruise control,
cold factory air conditioning, a six-way power driver bucket seat,
a reclining passenger seat, and a factory AM/FM stereo with CD
player.
The clean engine bay features a 5.7-litre fuel-injected LT-1 engine
mated to a 4-speed automatic 4L60E automatic transmission. New dual
catalytic converters for 1996 models added ten horsepower to the
5.7-litre V8, bringing the total up to 285 horsepower. Of the
17,844 Z28s produced for the 1996 model year, only 2,938 were
convertibles.
