1962 Pontiac Catalina
VIN: 362K19232
The Pontiac Catalina is a full-size, junior series automobile
produced by Pontiac from 1950 to 1981. The Catalina was Pontiac's
most popular model, available in multiple body styles, and served
as the donor platform for the popular Pontiac Grand Prix.
A new "three-speed four-range" "Roto Hydramatic" automatic
transmission replaced the previous four-speed unit for 1961. The
new transmission is slimmer and lighter than the older four-speed
Hydramatic,
The seller states that this 1962 Pontiac Catalina has the original
Roto Hydramatic 3 speed transmission, powered by the original 389ci
engine. The odometer is reading 92539 but is not actual. No
modifications have been made to the vehicle. There are disc brakes
on the front and drums on the rear. The seller states that the "P"
came off the tail panel, but is currently sitting on the dash. The
battery hold down is missing, and also the dome light lens. The
seller notes that the steering wheel is cracked from shrinkage and
the dash trim needs to be replaced. The speedometer is stuck, the
cigarette lighter is missing and both door knobs are absent as
well. The dome light works, the radio works, the headlights work
but the wiper blades do not work.
The seller states the car runs, drives and stops with no problems.
The overall ride is "nice".
Dash pad rebuilt and Steering Wheel currently is in California
being rebuilt.
