Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1969 Dodge Super
Bee. This real-deal Super Bee comes to us today dressed in a coat
of spring special Rally Green paint accented by a lift-off flat
black fiberglass scooped hood that is a nod to the A12 M-code cars.
The hood sports red "Six Pack" lettering, hood pins, and a set of
risers to raise the hood for car show viewing. The paint color is
definitely a head turner and is good driver-quality. We don't know
if this is the original color due to a missing trim tag, but the
"WM" in the VIN assures us that this is a true Super Bee. Up front
beneath the black hood is a horizontal grille with a bright
surround that's flanked by dual side-by-side headlights. A colorful
"Bee" badge in great condition adorns the grille and a gleaming
chrome bumper with integrated turn signals resides beneath. Bright
elements continue on the long sides of the car with wheel lip
molding, window trim, drip rail molding, door handles and the
drivers mirror. This Super Bee wears a black vinyl top in excellent
condition that continues the black theme from the hood. The black
accent appears again with a bumble-bee stripe that wraps over the
trunklid and rear quarters. At the rear of the car you'll find
another shining bumper, dual factory exhaust tips, and another cool
"Bee" badge on the lip of the trunk. This big, muscular Dodge sits
atop a set of classic Cragar SS wheels (15X6 front, 15X7 rear)
wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A's that really complete the
look.
Remove the fiberglass hood to reveal a very clean and organized
green engine bay. The star of the show is a bright orange 383ci V-8
(casting date: 11/12/70) topped with a stock cast iron intake,
"906" casting heads, orange valve covers, an Edelbrock 600 4-barrel
carburetor, and an orange 6-pack style air cleaner. Incredibly
clean cast exhaust manifolds run through 2.5" turbo mufflers for a
killer sound at the rear. The healthy V-8 is mated up to a 4-speed
manual Chrysler A833 transmission (casting date: 1/6/69) that puts
power to the pavement via an 8 3/4" chrysler rear end (casting
date: XX69) with 3.91 positraction gears. The transmission has a
full VIN stamp of a 69 Super Bee, but it is not a match to this
car. Other items of note while under the hood are Chrysler
electronic ignition, a Chrysler radiator, manual steering, and
manual drum brakes. This is certainly an engine bay that you could
be proud to show off at any car show!
Open the long drivers door to find a very nice stock-style black
interior illuminated by a working dome light. The black door cards
appear OEM correct and in good condition save for some light wear
on the drivers armrest and surround. The black vinyl front buckets
and rear bench are in excellent condition and free of any evidence
of wear. The floor is lined with new-looking high quality black
hook loop carpet kept nice with black carpeted logo floormats.
Rising up from the floor is a Hurst dog-leg shifter with a brown
pattern ball. The crack-free black vinyl dash looks bone-stock and
houses a tiktok tach (inop.), a 150mph speedometer, and gauges for
fuel, temp, oil (inop.), and alternator. A SunTach II tachometer is
mounted on the steering column and a trio of Sunpro gauges are
under the dash with oil, volts (inop.), and temp. Also in the dash
are controls for the 2-speed wipers, a working reverse light,
controls for the heat and fan, and what appears to be the original
Dodge solid state AM push-button radio (inop.). The driver is
treated to a 3-spoke black steering wheel with horn ring while
ahead of the passenger is an empty glovebox with a flip-up door.
Overhead you'll find dual visors and a tight black vinyl headliner.
Around back in the trunk is a plaid vinyl mat, a full spare on a
black steel wheel, a jack, a car cover, and risers to hold up the
fiberglass hood at shows.
If you're on the hunt for a real 69 Super Bee that you can hop in
an hit the road today without worry, then you are gonna want to
give this one some serious consideration. This Dodge has
head-turning good looks, plenty of power, a 4-speed, a comfortable
interior, and a killer sound - what's not to love! You'll have a
hard time trying not to grin ear-to-ear as you cruise down the road
in this awesome piece of Mopar history!
