For Sale: 1956 Chevrolet 210 in Columbus, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Cruisin Classics is excited to present to you this absolutely stunning 1956 Chevrolet 210! This tri-five literally grabs your attention with its combination of show-quality light blue metallic paint and mirror-finish chrome brightwork. The paint is deep and glossy across the whole laser-straight body and even after spending a fair amount of time with the car I have yet to find a flaw. The brightwork is in impeccable condition with no pitting or dings. Panel fitment is excellent with consistent gaps all over the car. Up front this 210 sports a large chrome "hood bird" above a perfect colorful Chevrolet bowtie crest flanked by round headlights in bright bezels. The chrome eggcrate grille has turn signals on either side with bowtie logos on the lenses and it sits above a massive chrome bumper. Bright trim is abundant and beautiful with window molding, fender gravel shields, body side molding, dual side mirrors, wiper arms, and door handles all adding to the look. The rear of the car is just as breath-taking as the front and features another large and gleaming bumper, ornate tail light assemblies with bowtie accents and hidden gas fill, and a bowtie crest on the trunklid that doubles as a third brake light. This whole blue and chrome package is perfectly complemented by a set of chrome Cragar Street Pro wheels with faux knock-offs wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires.

Lift the hood to reveal a very clean and well-sorted black engine bay that would be right at home at any car show. We were told by the most recent owner that the powerplant at the center is a 383 Stroker V-8 and after driving it we'd be inclined to agree with that (though we have no receipts for verification). Both the block and the Vortec heads are painted maroon and they're topped with an aluminum intake, aluminum valve covers, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and a chrome and maroon Spectre air cleaner. Exhaust flows through ceramic-coated headers, newer pipes, and dual mufflers before exiting chrome tips at the rear corners with a heavenly rumble. The ignition system has been brought into the modern era with an MSD distributor and ignition box. Attached to the new front-runner pulley system are a chrome alternator and a power steering unit with chrome reservoir that feeds the CPP steering box. Other highlights under the hood include an aluminum radiator with chrome overfill, a chrome battery box, and a chrome brake booster and reservoir that power the front discs (with drilled slotted rotors) and rear drums. The strong running V-8 is mated up to a Muncie M20 4-speed transmission that puts down the power through a 10-bolt rear axle with an aluminum cover and freeway-friendly 3.43 positraction gears. The bottom side of the car shows the same attention to the detail as the top, with undercoating, a new-looking gas tank, and many suspension updates.

Swing open the driver's door to find a gorgeous interior done in white, light grey, and the exterior blue. The door panels are a blend of all 3 colors with chrome accent strips and aftermarket cranks and handles and they are in fantastic shape. Both the front and back bench seats have been recovered in high-quality white vinyl with grey accents on the seat backs and grey seatbelts - and they are as comfortable as they are beautiful. The floors are covered in a very nice blue-grey carpet set that looks like new. Rising up from the floor is a Hurst dog-leg shifter with a white pattern ball and a grey boot that blend in perfectly with the interior. The dash is painted steel in the same blue as the exterior. At the center of the dash is a chrome radio-delete cover plate and beneath it, in the glovebox, is a professionally mounted JVC AM/FM/CD stereo. The stereo plays through round Custom Autosound speakers in the front kick panels and 6X9's in the custom rear package tray. To the right of the glovebox is something you rarely see in a car of this age - a working analog clock! The driver's side of the dash has an arcing speedometer with fuel and temp gauges, a knob for lights, a knob for the working 2-speed wipers, controls for the working heat and fan, and an ashtray. The odometer shows 2,913 miles and we think that may be the mileage since the restoration. The driver is treated to a white-rimmed banjo-wire steering wheel with working horn on an Ididit tilt column with a Sun Super Tach mounted on it. Overhead is a pair of visors, a tight white vinyl headliner, and a working dome light. Around back is a flawless trunk with carpeted mat, a car cover, a set of light blue carpeted floormats with cross-flags logos, and a full spare on a body-color steel wheel with beauty ring and dog-dish cap. Also in the trunk is a box that contains a shop manual and 2 thick folders - 1 full of parts receipts and another full of service receipts dating from 2000 to approximately 2014 (all saved by a previous owner who had most of the restoration work done to the car).

While there are still a fair number of tri-five Chevys out there in the classic car market, it is not every day that you come across one that has been restored to this level. This 1956 210 sets an incredibly high bar for excellence and attention to detail. The slick paint, the laser-straight body, the mirror-finish chrome, the killer drivetrain, the awesome-sounding exhaust, and the beautiful interior all combine to make this car a real show-stopper! This 210 will lay rubber, cruise down the freeway at 70mph all day long, win trophies at car shows, and turn heads wherever it goes, but most importantly - it will put a smile on your face every time you look at it and know that it's yours!
