For Sale: 1929 Ford Model AA in Meriden, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1929 Ford Model AA dump body

There's a lot more story here than description, because the truck is almost as simple as it gets.

Back in 1760, the land where this trucks sits was homesteaded. The same family has owned it since then and it had always been a dairy farm until the last 40 years or so. This 1929 Ford Model AA Dump body was purchased brand new as one of the first powered pieces of machinery for the farm. They were still using a horse drawn seeder for the hay planting. (That seeder is still in very good condition and available) . This Dump Body was used around town and of course all over the 100 plus acres of farm land. It was last registered in 1979 but was used on the property up into the late 80's, early 90's. In the 60's they built the "new shed" and that is where this truck and her sister 1932 Model BB stake body were kept and have been sitting ever since being parked 35+/- years ago. The owner, who is the great, grandson of the original buyer of this 29 Ford, contacted a local restoration shop inquiring if they could direct him to possible buyers, they directed him to me in order to inspect and possibly assist in their sale.

My friend and I got her running just recently and she fired up rather easily after installation of a new battery, some points cleaning and running new fuel through her veins, so, she does run and drive and the PTO driven dump operates exactly as it should. The three speed manual transmission shifts easily through all gears and features a reverse lock out lever.

The horn works but the front lights currently do not, brake and taillights do work..

The body and frame are in excellent condition in terms of lack of rust, this is a very solid truck. There are some battle scars on the front fenders that have been welded up over the years and one can see other areas that have been fixed by use of the ole lightning rod. She has been painted multiple times and the last time I'd say prep work wasn't all that great as much of that paint peeled off when we washed her off. The seat was swapped in from some scrap car that the current owner's Dad found at the local junkyard.

The tires on her are tube tires and are various manufactures that DEFINITELY need to be replaced before going on the road.

The 4 cylinder engine is the original engine for this vehicle and shows 41,000 miles.

As a farm truck, there is a lot of farmer engineering, so this isn't an all original show vehicle but she is an all original truck in that she has been fixed and modified to meet a purpose from day one of being purchased, by this one family.

There are also a bunch of extra parts that will come with her.

This truck has history.

With all she has to offer, in a truck that is almost 100 years old but still starts and runs, the family is asking $10,500 for her.

Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person, or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for the interest!
