Most importantly, though, Plymouth held onto its enviable third place standing in American automobile sales rankings. One of only 5.063 examples produced, this highly attractive 1959 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible was assembled at Chrysler’s Evansville, Indiana factory and according to the prior owner, it was purchased new by a lady resident in the Oakland, California area who drove it sparingly, remaining there until 2005, when the second owner acquired it. As offered, it celebrates Plymouth’s successes in 1959 with its eye-catching Red repaint and freshly reupholstered Red and White seats. The Belvedere’s captivating Virgil Exner styling features a bold frontal treatment, clean bodysides, prominent tailfins, and an embossed trunk lid.
