Vehicle Description
OPENING: This is a real deal '65 Mustang GT with a 289 "A" Code V8
engine hooked up to a Top Loader 4-speed manual transmission. First
generation Mustangs were available with a variety of engines, each
with its own engine code. Ford marketed the "A" Code Mustangs as a
way for owners to have a sports car with performance that matched
its great looks. Call Jordan (612) 290-9299 with any questions you
may have. See the video https://www.youtube.com/watch.
INTRO/HISTORY: In 1965 the 225 hp "A" Code engine was offered to
replace the 200 hp "D" Code engine from 1964. It was a significant
step up from the base-289. The "A" code engine had a 10:1
Compression rating and was offered with a 4-barrel carburetor, but
was still less expensive than the high performance 289 "K" code.
This beautiful example comes from a top tier collection and has
been very well maintained and cared for. Clean and clear title.
