Vehicle Description
1968 Ford Mustang Fastback GT500 Tribute This Stunning and
Ominous-looking machine was the beneficiary of a full rotisserie
restoration less than 11 years ago. Complete with a molded body
kit, bumpers, hood, and scoop. Bathed in beautiful Night black
Paint and accented with Peppercorn Gray racing stripe, which start
at the bottom of the front body molded bumper and continues through
to the body molded rear bumper panel. The Functional hockey stick
cove is now a "vent" on both sides of the rear quarter, plumbed to
cool the brakes. The B pillar Scoops are functional "vents" and
connect to the interior rear roof vents to cool the rear cabin when
opened. The grille is a simple horizontal multi-bar design and is
flanked by Upgraded LED headlights. All of the insignia, badges and
lettering that would tell you what this car was born to be have
been removed and smoothed. The only galloping horses found on this
beauty are now just under the hood. To keep this powerhouse glued
to the road are Shelby-style wheels wrapped in low-profile BFG
radial tires. Since the restoration the car has had two owners, its
most recent owner went through the car and made many improvements.
These improvements were completed between 2023 and 2024. Interior
Keyless entry. As you open the door you'll notice the clean
stainless metal panel inserts surrounded by black vinyl on the
doors. The window crank has been replaced with power window
switches. Keeping everything on the road is its beautiful polished
aluminum and wood Shelby GT 500 (looking) steering wheel, attached
to a stainless steel steering column (tilt). Bejeweled
custom-designed dash with white-faced Autometer gauges and a field
of more brushed metal, and sporting Carol Shelby's signature.
VintageAir AC, Pioneer stereo CD Player, and Pioneer 6x9 speakers
in the rear compartment. In front of the dash are (2) black leather
high-back bucket seats that are amazingly comfortable for any
cruise or long chase through city streets. Keeping your butt in the
seats are also full 5-point harnesses (seatbelts). The black
Carpeting is nice and has no fading or staining. All panels and
trim are clean smooth and black. The trunk is finished neatly in
vinyl, carpet, and bright trim. Also in the trunk, the Red Top
Optima battery which has been placed there inside a protective
metal box (painted to match the interior). Very useful but
hopefully never needed is a two-point roll bar, tastefully in
place. Drivetrain A Restored engine, 351 V8 bored and stroked, has
