This 1947 Ford Deluxe Custom Coupe Restomod may be just the ticket
for you. Dressed in Purple Metallic and garnished with orange
flames and silver trim. The car's paint and trim are in overall
excellent condition and is very eye-catching. The bodywork is
straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy and the chrome
bumpers fit tightly to the body.
This car rolls on Fisk Classic tires, size 205/65R15 in front and
Cooper radials, size 225/60R15 in back.
Under the hood is a GM 454 CID V-8 engine that generates 365
horsepower and breathes via dual exhausts and topped with a K&N
air cleaner. Backing this motor is a GM Turbo Hydramatic 400
three-speed automatic transmission. Driver convenience features
include air-conditioning and power steering with tilt column. Note
the brakes are not power-assisted.
Inside, the black front bucket seats are sumptuous and the matching
carpeting looks good. The headliner is finished in a neutral gray
while the inner door panels are gray with black flame trim, echoing
the exterior. More GM parts are in the cabin - a four-spoke
steering wheel that came from a Chevrolet Vega or Chevette donor,
along with a tilt steering column and air vent barrels. The black
metal dashboard features a complete array of Auto Meter gauges. The
center console looks good as does the console-mounted shifter. An
Alpine AM/FM stereo with CD player rounds out the interior.
The 1947 Ford line was similar to the short 1946. Visual
differences included the removal of the red accents from the grill
and the two small lights located just above it. Ford began titling
1947s in February 1947. For the first few weeks, the 1947 model was
identical to the 1946. Ford then restyled the body slightly first
by moving the parking lights from above the grill to below each
headlight. Exterior moldings were changed from grooved to a smooth
design. A new hood ornament with a blue plastic insert was
installed. A new hubcap design became available in March. The
interior dash color was changed from red accent to gold. By
September, the roof-mounted antenna was moved to the cowl. Horns
were moved to in front of the radiator from the engine
compartment.
This is a good driver and its "bathtub styling" will draw a lot of
attention wherever you go. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today
