This SS Chevelle clone was purchased in mint condition as a Malibu with 32,000 original miles and a Virginia title (we have a photo of the car as is when purchased). Included with the car is the original 1971 Owner’s Manual and spare keys, the original broadcast sheet, and the original 1971 Chevrolet New Vehicle Warranty with the “Protect-O-Plate”.
The current owner has always had an eye for muscle cars and has been restoring vehicles for 50 years. This Chevelle is one of his absolute best restorations!
The work started with a flawless paint job - the color is “GonnaBSilver” with black racing stripes. All of the chrome has been replaced and new badging installed. The front and rear windshields have been replaced, along with a new grill and headlights.
The original wheels have been replaced with period-correct replacements - front wheels are 15 x 7 American Racing Vintage VN105 wheels, and the rear are 15 x 10 American Racing Vintage VN105. BF Goodrich tires on all four.
The original engine has been replaced with a 396 small block stroker Crate engine, and the transmission upgraded to a 5-speed manual TKO-500 Tremec. Carburetor is a 1906 Edlebrock AVS2 with electric choke. Valve covers have been custom hydro-dipped. Rear differential is 373 gears. There are SensaTrac shocks, with all new tubular performance control arms and sway bars. Wilwood brakes provide plenty of stop. The AC and heat both work, and a new battery was installed in November 2023.
The interior has been completely upgraded from the original avocado green to a modern black. The driver and passenger bucket seats are Corbeau leather racing seats, with a new console and custom-made door panels to match. The rear seat has been covered with a matching Corbeau leather seat cover. A new dash pad, carpet and headliner have been installed. The vintage gauges, air outlets, vents, door handles, window cranks, etc. have all been replaced. The steering column is now a Flaming River tilt with a beautiful rosewood steering wheel. Your favorite music will sound great coming through the new Kenwood radio and speakers.
Since the completion of the restoration, the vehicle has been stored in a climate controlled garage, and the current Owner has driven the Chevelle about 6,500 miles (current mileage is 38,512). It performs flawlessly!
