Though absolutely stunning, the engine is bad due to being run without oil. A rebuild may be possible as this 350 crate motor had only around 2000 miles and what I suspect was a main rear seal leak was mistaken for a known leaky transmission seal. You may also wish to do an LS swap on this gem.
This was a Southern car from Georgia with no frame rust that migrated North. Sitting in grass in Ohio led to rust in the floor, rockers, and trunk. Around 1999 the car made it's way to sunny Southern California.
The engine (new) and transmission (used) were installed around 2001, along with an Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb. The gas tank was replaced with a new one not long after, along with a new sending unit. Front power disc brakes from Stainless Steel Brake company were installed. I also put in a new radiator.
An initial restoration was done in 2009. The rockers have had patch panels welded in, as well as replacement floor and trunk pans. The old paint was sanded down, with new primer and single stage paint applied. The bumpers were re-chromed, the grill was straightened out, and most of the trim was replaced with new from Classic Industries. The seats were all reupholstered at this time.
Power steering was put in around 2010 so that everyone in the family could drive this head turner.
The car was always garaged after the restoration, so the paint, trim, and interior remain in excellent condition.
