Vehicle Description
In recent years, the successors of the original Chrysler
Corporation have used the term "Redeye" in marketing modern HEMI
packages, but for those who recall the old days, that is certainly
the apt description for this car as well. This Cuda's comprehensive
restoration to like-original specs was done with provenance
provided by an Elite Dave Wise Report and a Chrysler Registry
Report. Of course, the FE5 Rallye Red paint alone is an eyeful, but
selecting it and then adding the rare Elastomeric front and rear
bumpers plus the red factory Shaker hood and a matched red interior
meant you could really "paint the town red" with this Cuda.
This car is also a factory V-Code 4-speed 'Cuda, 1 of the 334
produced in 1970. It has retained the original matching-numbers
drivetrain, with the 440 6-BBL/390 HP V-8 engine rumbling
underhood. That quiver of the Shaker torques to attention when the
trio of Holley 2-barrel carburetors are at WOT, and you are indeed
the driver with its Pistol Grip-stirred A833 4-speed manual
transmission and a 3.54 SureGrip Dana 60 rear axle, both part of
the A33 Track Pak. This car has power brakes and the Hemi-grade
suspension thanks to this engine as well.
Outside are trademark Cuda trim items like road lamps, hood pins,
rocker moldings and chrome tips, with a 440 hockey stripe graphic
ending below the rear spoiler and the black vinyl roof as a perfect
compliment. Inside the red vinyl interior is the Rallye instrument
cluster with tach and clock, a center console with woodgrain
applique, remote driver's mirror, red center sport steering wheel,
pedal brightwork, and Music Master AM radio with optional rear
speaker. Chrome touches like drip rail, body sill, body belt and
rear deck moldings help accent the car's bold 15-inch Rallye wheels
wearing E60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires, with the inflatable
spare in the trunk.
Color makes a statement about one's ownership of any car. If you
are hot-blooded and not afraid to be seen in this "red alert," this
hot opportunity should not be missed.
