From 1969 through 1976 Triumph built the TR6, a two seat front
engine roadster equipped with a 2.5 liter 6-cylinder engine mated
to a manual transmission. Of the almost 92,000 units produced in
that time, only just over 8,000 of those would be sold with in the
UK, and of the 83,400 exported almost all of those were to the US.
Triumph went outside its internal design team and actually used
German designer Karmann for this model with the factory Hardtop
being designed in house. This particular TR6 is a fantastic driver
quality example that has had excellent care and ownership with
excellent mechanicals that also includes a newly installed
supercharger that adds some more excitement to an already fun to
drive car. I feel like these TR6's were the first of these English
cars to be actually "fun" to drive with some power underneath that
pedal. This car is finished in white over black with a very
attractive stripe package that I have personally never seen. I am
also assuming that the car was re-painted some time ago and do not
know if the stripes were added at that time or were a dealer
option. Nonetheless it is a very attractive car with a great wheel
and tire selection filling out those fenders. The top does have a
split in the driver rear quarter plastic, but other than that it is
in good condition as is the interior and chrome. The paint has some
stone chips and peeling paint on the very bottom of the rear
quarters but zero rust anywhere with the exception of some surface
stuff underneath as would be expected. This car starts, runs,
sounds, idles, brakes, shifts and goes down the road really nicely.
These cars have had a pretty good little spike in values these last
couple years with 100 point cars bringing close to $45K. This is
not a "perfect" car but it is a excellent driver that would make
someone very proud. Receipts available upon request.
