For Sale: 1967 Ford Mustang in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Loaded! This 'Stang left the factory with a very desirable list of options. Extremely rare too: Out of 38,751 convertibles made, this is 1 of 78 born these colors and 1 of 919 with the performance 289 and a 4-speed! This is all documented with a Marti Report. It underwent a pretty thorough restoration.

EXTERIOR: This is one good looking car! The Vintage Burgundy looks like a piece of wet candy. The body is really in exceptional condition. It lines up great, it's straight with no rust or damage. It has optional sprint hood and GT equipment including fog lamps, stripes, emblems, exhaust through the valance and wheels wrapped in dual red stripe radial tires. The convertible top is power with optional glass rear window. It is very good, just not bright white like new. The chrome and trim shines great.

INTERIOR: Factory born parchment deluxe interior looks great against the burgundy! The deluxe interior includes upgraded upholstery, hard back seats, molded door panels with louvered lower trim and brushed aluminum trim. This car also has a deluxe wheel and seatbelts, a console, factory tachometer and clock. Overall, it is in good shape.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The "A" in the VIN designates this is a performance 289-225 hp with a 4 barrel carb. It has stock manifolds, carb etc. It is dressed up with finned aluminum valve covers and air cleaner. Although it's a factory air conditioned car the system has been updated with modern compressor and freon. It also features factory power steering and brakes. Overall, it is clean and proper looking. It even has correct hose clamps, Autolite battery topper, washer fluid bag and the buck tag listing the options is still attached.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is very clean metal inside and its painted body color. Well liner was replaced.

UNDERSIDE: Under this car looks like it was completely apart and restored. The floors appear to be rock solid and painted body color. The front end looks like it's completely new. The control arms themselves, ball joints, bushings, springs shocks etc. The steering was rebuilt including a new power steering control valve. In back it has new bushings and shocks. The brakes have been redone, factory disc in front. The lines, hoses and e-brake cables replaced. Factory correct dual exhaust with the crossover pipe and splitter GT tips going through the valance. The fuel system including the tank, lines and sending unit has been replaced. Looking up at the motor it is clean Ford blue, the starter looks fresh. It has its original top loader 4-speed trans with correct codes and date. In back is its original 3.00 traction lock rear end.

SERVICE: After our inspection we rebuilt the carburetor, replaced a heater control cable, vacuum canister for the air conditioning, replaced the tachometer.

I want to stress again the rarity and desirability of the options and colors this car was born with. A 4-speed with a/c in a convertible is rare in any car back then, throw in all the other goodies and this is probably a 1 of 1. The colors are awesome too. Be thankful to whomever was checking the boxes on this one back in '67!
