This 1986 Jeep CJ7 is a really cool, clean, and all steel Jeep that
spent its life in California and Arizona. This Jeep has a lot of
nice upgrades and maintenance done to it to make it a reliable
cruiser. The body is really clean and straight and it is super
solid as you would expect from an Arizona/California CJ. The silver
paint looks great and the underside is super clean too. We found no
rust issues with this Jeep.
The interior is really nice. It is your basic Jeep
interior...nothing fancy. It does have an aftermarket center
console and it has really nice seats. The rear of the Jeep is
carpeted and the front is bed-lined. It has a factory roll bar,
Grant Steering Wheel, and new dash pad. The headlights, taillights,
brakelights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work.
Even the factory tach and factory clock are working. The horn,
heat, and windshield wipers are also working.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent. The engine is the 4.2L Inline
6 that runs strong with no issues or red flags that we found. The
previous owner did have the engine rebuilt a few years ago but we
did not receive receipts. You can definitely see the work was done
as it has new freeze plugs, new gaskets, etc. The engine has less
than 5,000 miles on since being rebuilt. When it was rebuilt they
added an aluminum valve cover, HEI ignition, new Carb. It has new
belts and hoses. They also replaced the waterpump, starter,
alternator, and fuel pump. They also installed an aluminum radiator
with dual electric fans. It runs awesome. The transmission is the
TF904 Automatic that shifts nice and it is mated to the Dana 300
transfer case. The 4WD works like it should. It has the AMC 20 rear
axle with 3.54 gears and the Dana 30 front axle with 3.54
gears.
Other additions include a 4 Inch all spring lift with Rancho shocks
and stainless brake lines. It has a new upgraded power steering
system including a new steering box, new box brace, and new updated
steering shaft. This Jeep also has power front disc brakes. This is
all sitting on some nic e aftermarket wheels with like new 33 Inch
Mud Terrain tires. This Jeep has a new Odometer and gauge Cluster
as the old was damaged and not working properly.
