For Sale: 1977 GMC Sierra in Windsor, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

This truck was purchased brand new in 1977 by the uncle of the current owner as a delivery vehicle for his Thomas' English Muffin business. After missing a couple of deliveries because of snow, he decided to get into a 4x4. He ordered this GMC 3/4 ton specifically to work. No creature comforts. Big flat bench seat, M20 - SM465 4 speed transmission, big axles (Dana 44 F - GM 14 Bolt Full float R), manual locking hubs, NP205 Transfer case, 4:10 gears. No power steering, No AC, no power windows, he DID spring for power brakes though (Discs in F and Drums R), figuring if he's hauling 1/2 ton or more of english muffins, he'd better be able to stop her easily.
The engine is standard GM 350 CI with a 4 barrel carb. and although she doesn't currently start and run, she turns over by hand and generally, that means a Chevy will.
The truck was well taken care of mechanically and was driven into it's current resting spot less than 5 years ago, so chances are good to get this truck up and running in short order. The odometer shows 62,000 that are actual miles.
As a work truck though, looks were not paramount. The body is rusty in pretty much every panel, however, the frame and running gear are not rotted, just age surface rust.
The cab corners are pretty solid as are the rockers, not half as bad as one would expect considering the rust/rot on the fenders and bed sides.
The interior is in "worked in" condition. The dash is cracked, there is no radio, the steering wheel is rough and has no horn button, but the floors are fairly solid and aside from the large split on the side seam, the seat is in pretty good condition.
There are a couple holes in the end of the bed, near the tailgate, but the rest of the bed is solid.
I see this truck going one of two ways.
Someone needs a truck to haul around hay, farm stuff and won't see a lot of street use. Get her running and use her to plow, haul feed, etc.
Or, and this one tugs at my heart strings as this IS a one owner, family truck with some neat history, but, the axles, transmission, t-case and engine, when sold separately, combined, would be worth more than the asking price of $3200.

Thanks for the interest!
