For Sale: 1966 Ford Mustang GT in Johns Creek, Georgia

Vehicle Description

1966 Ford Mustang A Code 2+2 Fastback with Factory GT Package

Made in the San Jose, California plant; includes the original window sticker build sheet and door plate. Data plate codes are confirmed on Scott Martin’s Mustang Data Plate Decoder research.

Factory AC, power steering, Carlite tinted glass, 4-speed manual top loader trans, limited slip differential, blue & white luxury Pony interior, center console, Rally Pac, styled steel wheels, 4V 225 HP 289 engine.

Current owner upgraded the “suicide” single reservoir master cylinder to dual reservoir, and supplied a new heavy-duty battery and alternator. All lights, turn signals, horn and original AM radio work. Use the cigarette lighter port for charging your phone. Heater/AC/Defroster blows, but leaks freon so does not blow cold at the moment. Will probably need to be rebuilt. She will also need the power steering pump rebuilt or replaced pretty soon, and that’s reflected in the asking price.

Originally Wimbledon White, was painted Nightmist Blue at some point during the 80s per prior owner. Body is in great shape with a few tiny dings/scratches. Believed to be rust free except for a small bubble in driver door bottom. Shown in pics.

Odometer showing 33,460, but don’t know if those are original miles. It was at 32,578 when current owner purchased the vehicle in 2020.

Pretty firm on price but will consider reasonable offers. No trades. Please be advised - any purchaser must be able to meet at the Alpharetta, GA police station on Maxwell Road for test drives, and then meet owner at a Wells Fargo nearby to complete the transaction. Unfortunately, due to all of the scamming going on in the world these days, that is the only way I’m comfortable transacting.

There is no title on the car, only transferable registration, which is pretty common with cars this old and not a problem in most states. I believe its first home was in New York state, and they didn’t require titles on vehicles until 1972 (just a theory, based on paperwork I have on the vehicle and research I’ve done). Do check with the DMV in your state to make sure you are good though! When I bought it, here in Georgia, all I had to do to register it was fill out a short form and have a policeman stop by to verify the VIN, and that the car is what the Bill of Sale says it is. Easy peasy.

She is a sweet car, cranks right up and drives great. I’m going to miss her - a lot. Please check out pics and video and email with any questions. I will try my best to answer them.
