Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Hardtop
"Up with good looks. Down with high prices. The stylish economy
car" said the 1967 Nova sales brochure. The Nova SS got a new black
accented grille. Optional front disc brakes were made available for
the first time. With the introduction of the Turbo-Fire engine in
1966, the Nova SS had snuck its way into a muscle car label,
despite its small stature. Really, it was somewhere in between the
pony car and muscle car class. Though its power had been diminished
in 1967, it was still a quick car that would become quicker as the
years wore on.
For consignment, a 1967 Nova with some of that zapped power put
back in with some boring and stroking mill magic added in, and an
overall great looker. A 3-owner car with a new steering box, new
Ididit steering column and a fully rebuilt front suspension...Read

Exterior
Painted in Autumn Mist Metallic, straight steel panels, great trim,
and chrome, and shiny Chevrolet rally rims, (14 x 6 front and 14 x
7 rear), are seen on this very original looking simple but elegant
grocery getter. Most of the exterior work was done at the 44,000
mile mark, and I can note well done, with very nicely applied
paint, well minded gaps, and time well spent on the polishing of
the chrome. I would not go so far as to say frame off, however it
truly is a restoration that was meticulously performed. A unique
NOVA look with egg crate grille, single headlight, a trim spear
running the gamut of the sides, and a squared off rear. All nicely
proportioned and a wonderfully sloping rear glass. We are off to
the races!
Interior
A 1971 Oldsmobile was the donor for the interior seating, which
presents nicely in black vinyl with gold piping. New carpet, also
in black and refurbished door panels with this work being performed
in 1993. An A/C system is mounted under the dash and plenty of new
gauges like a steering column mounted tachometer on the new Ididit
column, and vacuum gauge, along with a trio of under dash gauges
which include oil pressure, water temp, and battery volts. An
AM/FM/Cassette radio is on and looking retro. The headliner is
tight and the dash is all straight and true with no cracks or
dulling. A custom rear interior deck sports a bow tie logo and
stitched "Deuces Wild" within.
Drivetrain
The restored 331ci comes from a 327ci mill which has been bored .30
over, and it has been decked. A polished steel crank, 202 fuelie
heads with roller rockers, stainless steel valves, hardened valve
seats, new guides, reconditioned rods and a 350 cam with .447
I&E lift have all been added. This is a performer to say the
least. Topped by a 600cfm Holley dual plane intake and backed by a
700R4 rebuilt 4-speed automatic transmission with a Best shift kit
with converter. A 1200rpm stall converter is installed in front of
the shift column and has an adjustable converter lockup dial.
Hedman headers start to snake their way past the mill and send
spent fossils to a Borla equipped dual exhaust system.
Undercarriage
Like new with no surface rust to be seen...all buttoned up and
shiny. A very nice job underneath. Front Wilwood disc brakes and
rear drums all pumped with brake fluid from a Wilwood master
cylinder provide the whoah factory and a fully rebuilt independent
coil springs in front and on back, leaf springs with Caltracs bars
provide the ride. All new spring bushings are also recently
installed.
Drive-Ability
Nice Driver, wonderful limitless acceleration, and solid bias free
panic stopping are just a few of the driver's highlights for this
test drive. All in perfect working condition save for the AC that
didn't blow cold, the reverse lights that didn't illuminate and a
radio that refused to belt out the tunes. I could see all this
through the tire smoke!
Well restored, well upgraded in the engine department, and nicely
done interior, we have a runner, and a gunner. If you are looking
for a smaller muscle car classic this one is truly a wild
deuce!
