For Sale: 1928 Ford Model A in Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance.  We can assist with financing and shipping as needed.

This 1928 Ford Model A takes the classic look of a Tudor sedan and combines it with some great street rod elements including a modern boxed frame, Ford 302ci V8, and Corvette IRS.  The result is presented in an eye-catching red that can’t be missed.

Titled as a 1928 Ford, this one starts with a pristine steel body.  Just take a look at the clean pinch welds in the door jambs and you’ll see what I mean.  The fenders are fiberglass while the boxed steel frame is from TCI Engineeering.  The paint is 1987 Corvette Flame Red and is accented by the chrome radiator surround, headlight buckets, and black vinyl top.  Note the louvered side panels and tilt-out windshield too.  It rides on 15” aluminum wheels with Cobra center caps and Uniroyal tires.

The drivetrain has seen a significant upgrade since Henry’s old 4-cylinder.  Now we have a Ford 302ci V8 that features electronic ignition, a Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake, and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor with electric choke.  The camshaft is a Crane Cams HMV-260 which offers great street performance.  There is also an electric fuel pump and electric cooling fan along with finned Cobra valve covers.  The Sanderson headers feed a dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers that have a nice rumble.  The transmission is a reliable C4 automatic and leads to a 3.36 rear end which is part of a complete independent rear suspension from a C3 Corvette – very nice!  This car is also equipped with power front disc brakes.  Note the chrome radius rods and steering arms too.

The gray cloth interior features two high back bucket seats in front and a bench seat in back.  The headliner and all side panels match as well.  There is a wood overhead console housing a JVC head unit up above.  An essential street rod component is the GM tilt steering column topped by a Grant GT steering wheel.  The column is flanked by a speedometer and tachometer, while the original Model A instrument housing has been modified to accommodate Stewart Warner water temperature and oil pressure gauges.  Note the original fuel level indicator has been reconditioned and works great!  An ammeter is also provided.  All windows go up and down properly and the tilt-out windshield does its thing.

This Tudor looks terrific and has a lot of great features you don’t always see (when is the last time you saw a Corvette IRS under a Model A?).  It includes assembly notes and wiring diagrams as well.  While there are plenty of half-baked street rods out there, this one is a turn-key car that is ready to drive around town or cruise down the highway.
