paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the
exterior, interior, and driveline of this Pontiac but first, we

We will start with the exterior of this Catalina. We can see that
the fit of all the panels is great as both doors, hood, and trunk
open and close with ease. The gaps are even and symmetrical, and
down the sides, the body lines flow seamlessly from front to back.
The body is showcased by the Cameo Ivory Paint which is the factory
option for it. Countless hours have been spent wet sanding,
buffing, and polishing it to a stunning finish that's as slick as a
ribbon. It's accented by the white convertible top that was
replaced at the time of the restoration. Also, the top is power and
working as it should. The chrome and trim package on this '65 is
beautiful as well, we can see that everything has a beautiful
finish and that the rear bumper has been re-chromed. Up front, the
headlights and bumper are beautiful along with the grill and
accents. New door and trunk rubbers were replaced at the time of
the restoration as well. You'll also notice that all the glass in
this Catalina is gorgeous and has been well cared for over the
years. To finish off the exterior we can see the stance is set off
by the factory 8-lug wheels with the correct beauty rings and
centers while sitting on a set of 215/75/14 tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this Convertible. On the
inside, we can see that it has been finished out in the red
interior that was installed at the time of the restoration. This
provides a beautiful complement to the exterior and flows perfectly
with the top down. The door panels are in great condition along
with their trim. This '65 is optioned with the standard crank
windows and manual locks. It has had a new carpet installed, and we
can see that it has the front and rear bench seats that were redone
at the time of the restoration as well. This is a four-speed
optioned car that has the Hurst floor shifter. Looking at the dash
we can see that it is all in very nice condition from the pad to
the wood grain accents. The gauges are in great condition as well
and we can see it has had a Stuart Warner Oil pressure gauge added
under the dash. It still sports the stock-style steering wheel
which is very nice as well. Inside the trunk is all solid and is
detailed with the 8-lug spare.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Pontiac. Under the
hood it has a beautiful detail, and we can see that the firewall
and inner fenders are all solid. Everything has a stock feel to it
and the power comes from the 389 Big Block Engine. This decodes out
as the original 389 for this Catalina with a 9778789 Casting
Numbers and F185 Date Code. The 389 is set up with a '65 model
9778817 Tri Power Intake with three Rochester 2 Barrel Carbs
(7029683, 7019927, 7029683) This Catalina also has the '65 model
Muncie 4 Speed 3851325 casting and P0301 Date Stamp that runs back
to the '65 model 9778080 10 Bolt Rear End with 3.23 Gears. For
brakes, it has the manual brake option with drums on all four
corners. Under the front, all the bushings and ball joints are in
good condition, and it comes with Power Steering. For exhaust, it
has manifolds with dual pipes and turbo-style mufflers. All the
floor pans are rock solid and look to be original except for a
small repair to the rear passenger pan. All the frame looks
excellent and is a testament to how well the convertible has been
cared for over the years. A new gas tank was installed at the time
of the restoration along with new shocks. If you are in the market
for classic Pontiac Catalina, you won't want to miss out on your
opportunity to drop the top and cruise in this one!
