For Sale: 1967 Ford Mustang in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Scary fast! Really, I drove it with my daughter, and I scared us both without even flooring the pedal! The car will handle it, the question is can you handle it? It has had a comprehensive frame off, rotisserie restoration and looks phenomenal! It also has an over the top handling package and a motor producing gobs of responsive power! Fresh and freaky fast! This car has it all!

EXTERIOR: What a slick looking car! Absolutely got to love a red fastback Mustang with white stripes and spinner rims! The body was taken down to a bare shell and put on a rotisserie. The paint was applied properly with great attention to detail. It was then sanded and polished to a very slick and reflective finish. It is smooth to the touch as well as the white racing stripes, and GT side stripe that were applied underneath the clear coat. Looking down the side of the body it is absolutely 100% laser straight. All the panels are lined up properly and the doors open and close easily like a new car. Aside from being refinished to show quality it also has some custom modifications like a Shelby style front end with a custom valance, bumper delete and custom grill with fog lamps. An aftermarket fiberglass hood with functioning scoop has been added as well as billet hood pins. The rain gutters were shaved for a clean look, and out back has a custom valance and a smooth bumper. All the glass looks to have been replaced. custom 1 piece door glass, the vent windows were removed. Dual bullet mirrors were added. The polished aluminum reproduction American Racing Shelby rims with spinner center caps are staggered and give this car a very appealing stance. They are 18 inches in the rear and 17 inches up front. The rear Nitto tires are a beefy size P305/40R18. This car is a robust balance of show and go!

INTERIOR: This is a great interior that was built with speed, safety, and comfort in mind! It has custom contoured sport seats that resemble the original style. There's a custom upholstered center console that goes front to back and houses the power window and door lock toggles, as well as the aluminum 5-speed shifter, emergency hand brake, and additional gauges. The custom rear bucket seats have been recovered as well, they look great and fold flat. Killer stereo system with an Alpine Bluetooth stereo, amps, two 10-inch Alpine subwoofers, 6x9 Alpine speakers, 5.5 inch speakers and tweeters in the kick panels. A roll bar has been added with custom panels to help it blend with the interior. Those same panels also have cup holders built in and 6x9 Alpine speakers as well. The roll bar has two four-point Crow Enterprise racing harnesses attached to it. They keep you snug and safe when the hammer is down. The door panels have been replaced and they have custom billet levers. The molded headliner with overhead console and sun visors look like new. The rearview mirror is original. The dash pad also looks like new. The remainder of the dash looks original with the exception of aftermarket Auto Meter Pro Comp Ultra-Lite gauges and a modern Alpine stereo. The tilt column and real wood grain steering wheel appear to be original. An aftermarket gas pedal was added. The carpeting was replaced. It has molded kick panels with 5.5 in speakers and tweeters built in.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a setup that's intended to go fast! The motor is so big they had to notch the shock towers so it could fit! The engine is a genuine FE block stroked to 447 cubic inches. It's making 530 horsepower and 530 ft lb of torque. It's completely built with nothing but quality parts. It has an MSD fuel injection system mounted on top of Edelbrock performer RPM intake manifold. An aftermarket MSD distributor and ignition system has been added as well as an Edelbrock water pump. It has a billet power steering pump and bracket, lower drive system, chrome alternator, remote oil filter, and an aftermarket ABS brake master cylinder plus many more performance parts. It's also upgraded with an aluminum water pump and radiator with an electronic fan. The horns are hooked up. It has aftermarket billet hinges with struts, they function and look great. Billet aluminum shock tower braces have been added as well to help prevent body twist. The underside of the hood, fender wells, and firewall are all painted body color.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb is painted just as slick as the body. The smooth racing stripes are painted all the way through the jambs as well. The weather stripping has been replaced. All the metal appears to be solid. A custom box is mounted for the subwoofers with an Alpine amplifier attached to it. The Optima red top gel battery has been relocated to the trunk and mounted securely on the passenger side.

UNDERSIDE: This car has received a complete rotisserie restoration and its underbody looks phenomenal! It has a complete TCI suspension with tubular control arms, adjustable torsion bars, coilover adjustable gas shocks, and rack and pinion steering. It has welded in frame connectors front to back to prevent body twist. It also has a tubular center cross support structure. In back is a 4 link with tubular control arms and coilover adjustable gas shocks. The custom exhaust system with an x-pipe, Dynomax mufflers, and stainless polished tips are sounding sweet. The fuel system was replaced. It's upgraded with electronic power disc brakes including Baer drilled and slotted rotors at all four wheels. Looking up at the motor it has an extra capacity oil pan and high torque starter. It also has a Legend LGT 5 speed manual transmission with hydraulic clutch and a custom drive shaft. That transfers the power back to a performance built Ford 9-inch posi rear end. The floors are solid, rust-free, and look great. They have been painted body color and have a smooth finish.

SERVICE: Our team of professional mechanics has completed a thorough inspection of this car and repaired or replaced the following items: adjusted the emergency brake, replaced the oil temperature sender, rewired the blower switch, rewired the sport lights, and replaced the intake gaskets.

This car is a gnarly street menace! It was built totally right receiving a rotisserie restoration and using top quality performance parts. It's the real deal as far as handling, braking and performance. I would enjoy it on the street although it's ready for the track too. The interior could use a little dialing in but man this car has so much to offer. If you're looking for fast and loud with stunning looks, you have found it. What an absolute knockout!
