Vehicle Description
1978 MGB MG Convertible
VIN: GHN5VJ461758
The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed from
1962 until 1980 by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later the
Austin-Morris division of British Leyland, as a four-cylinder,
soft-top sports car. MG, for years, boasted that they sold more
convertible 2 seater coupes in America than any other car
manufacturer. This was true for many years, finally being
supplanted by the Miata.
The MGB presented at auction is all MG on the outside and the
inside. But under the hood sits a great suprise... A 1986 Ford
Thunderbird Fuel Injected 2.3L 4 Cylinder Turbo! Professionaly
installed and mated to a 5 Speed Manual Transmission, this MG
scoots right along! A dual exhaust provides a sound not commonly
heard from MGs standard 1799cc 4 banger. The drive and handling of
this car is improved with new shocks and suspension components from
Moss Motors.
The car is reported by the seller to be very solid and the overall
look of the car is enhanced by the custom high rise bonnet covering
the engine compartment. The yellow stripes added to the British
Racing Green paint provides a real sport look to the car. A new,
high end convertible top adds the finishing touch to the car. The
interior shows well with enhanced seats and the custom wheels look
sharp.
