Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Corvair 500 Why This Car Is Special The Chevrolet
Corvair was a compact car manufactured by Chevrolet for model years
1960€"1969 in two generations. A response to the Volkswagen
Beetle, it remains the only American-designed, mass-produced
passenger car with a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine. The name
€Corvair€ originated as a portmanteau of Corvette and Bel Air,
with the €air€ part referenced the engine€s cooling system.

Under the hood beats a 95 horsepower rear-mounted air-cooled 164
cubic inch flat-six engine backed by an automatic transmission.
Chevrolet put in the Corvair something truly different. The
rear-mounted air-cooled flat-six motor is set up for a lower center
of gravity, and some Porsche-style handling fun, has a large rev
range, looks as it did back when it was new with the black factory
air cleaner system, electric cooling fans, carb system and intake,
and factory exhaust. It sits in a very neat, clean, painted and
detail engine compartment and looks like it did back then while
riding on the Chevrolet Rally wheels with Cooper Cobra Radial black
sidewall performance tires. Interior The interior on this Corvair
consists of the black split bench seat and matching back seats and
door panels, the factory dual cowl dash that borrows styling from
the Corvette factory dash with all the gauges and instruments,
stainless trim, black carpets, factory black/chrome steering wheel,
and Chevrolet logo radio. Exterior Corvairs always turn heads
wherever they go and this one does too with its professional
restoration that had the Nantucket light blue paint applied over
the coupe body that gives it a nice mix of European and American
styling to give it a sports car-like appearance as well as having
nice chrome front and rear bumpers, Corvair 500 badging, and the
front gas tank door. Conclusion If you ever wanted a 1967 restored
