Vehicle Description
1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS-6 This tribute has it all; classic lines,
fantastic paint, menacing stance, rumbling 454cid big block, full
SS dash, and a complete Vintage Air setup. There's a lot to like
here. When we took the car on trade it did have oly 75 miles after
resto. I do have 375 miles now. Cars start, run, drive, stop and
restarts like a dream!! Sound great with those long tube Hooker
headers with those 3' Flow Masters! This car started life as a 72
Malibu with a 350 auto. It has since been restored and modified
with a 1970 front clip and SS rear bumper. This was a nearly
rust-free car with the exception of the driver's floor section
which was professionally replaced. The car was repainted in
Cranberry Metallic with new Tuxedo Black vinyl, brightwork, 17'
polished Americans. Car has a cowl hood with SS badging & hood
pins. This Chevelle now sports a 454 ci engine that was built for
the street. It has plenty of power and a great sound, but also has
civilized road manners with a stable operating temperature and
solid vacuum at idle. Highlights include an Edelbrock intake, HEI
electronic distributor, and Holley electric fuel pump. The
transmission is a TH400 automatic which feeds a 12-bolt rear end
3.25 ratio, great street/cruising gear with these tall rear tires.
There is also power steering and power front disc brakes to make
driving a breeze for anyone. The interior has been redone with new
carpeting, door panels, seat covers, and an SS dash. Everything
works properly including the oil light, ammeter and clock. The
horn, wipers, neutral safety switch, and backup lights are
functional as well, as is the parking brake. The dash lights and
dome light are good too. There is also a modern Retrosound stereo
with auxiliary input. And not to be missed is the Vintage Air HVAC
setup; it's always nice to have air conditioning on those hot
summer nights, not to mention a functional heater and defroster.
