For Sale: 1953 Ford F100 in Rowlett, Texas

Vehicle Description

This 50th Anniversary 1953 Ford F100 pickup benefits from a frame off, no expense spared restoration with a commitment to originality. It is powered by its original 239 cubic inch Flathead V8, which was in fact the final year before the Flathead was retired by the Y-Block in 1954. The rotisserie restoration left nothing untouched but still incorporates its original leaf spring suspension and drum brake configurations. The "three on the tree" column shift manual transmission operates flawlessly and the truck starts easy, has good power and rolls down the road with perfect, albeit 1953 truck manners.

The '53 model is the first of the second generation Ford F-Series truck line and the first to carry the F100 designation. It originally cost $1,330 and weighed in at 3,170 pounds on a wheelbase of 110 inches and overall length a tick over 189 inches. The original Sheridan (dark) Blue has been changed to a less traditional Ford Grabber Blue, that presents in top flight condition with not even a handful of imperfections. The interior is nice and tidy and the cab is equipped with what appears to be all new glass. The 6-volt gauges and lights are all in working order, the heater is operational and the ooh-gah horn enough to alert everyone that you have arrived. The steel wheels are adorned with polished dog dishes and beauty rings clad with a staggered set of General Tire radials.

Mechanically this truck is dialed in, and despite its original configuration is a joy to drive. Restomods are great, but preservation of the old school originals are every bit as rewarding.

This Ford truck is located in Rowlett, Texas and is offered for sale as where is with a clean Title. Happy to negotiate price in person, the old school way.
