Featuring unforgettable styling, the new-for-1963 Corvette Sting
Ray was available as a coupe or convertible and remains one of the
finest of the many great designs from the legendary Bill
Mitchell-led styling studios at General Motors. Thanks to its
dramatic split-window rear treatment, a one-year-only feature, the
1963 Sting Ray coupe remains one of the most collectible and
valuable of all classic Corvettes today. These second-generation
Corvettes also offer the uncanny ability to adapt extremely well to
customization, and this Pro Touring-style 1963 Corvette Sting Ray
coupe is an outstanding example of the concept.
A frame-off custom build, this 1963 split-window Corvette features
far greater power than stock with a 6.2L/480 HP LS3 GM V-8 engine
equipped with electronic fuel injection and adjustable exhaust. A
5-speed manual transmission regulates rpms and sends power to a
fully independent rear suspension.
Bathed in a beautiful Silver Metallic paint finish, the Corvette
rides on a custom Billy Dawson's Corvette Correction chassis
utilizing C4 Corvette suspension front and rear, plus power
rack-and-pinion steering. Stopping power is provided by a set of
drilled and ventilated 4-wheel disc brakes incorporating a power
assisted master cylinder.
The crisp red leather interior features custom upholstered bucket
seats, door panels, and rear package area. The driver is greeted by
a matching leather wrapped steering wheel mounted to a tilting
column, plus Dakota Digital gauges. Comfort and convenience
features include power windows, air conditioning, and an AM/FM
radio. Quad tipped exhaust, chrome front and rear bumpers, and
stylish EVOD Industries 18? three-piece wheels, which are a modern
take on the factory '63 Corvette wheel covers, finish it off.
