GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1966 Shelby Cobra (2023
build) for your consideration. This freshly built AC Cobra has just
10 miles on it since it was completed - it features a Contemporary
Classics body that is finished in a gorgeous Metallic Dark Purple
with Silver Metallic painted stripes. It is powered by a 427ci V8
('67 Ford FE Mid-Oiler engine) with twin 500 cam carburetors and an
original aluminum Ford racing intake manifold. All of this power is
transferred through a Tremec manual gearbox and put to the ground
through the 3.31 rear gear. Some key features on this Cobra
include; American Racing Hildebrand wheels, C4 Corvette front
independent suspension (only donor part on the build), CWI Jaguar
style rear suspension with double coilovers, power steering, power
drilled and slotted brakes, Tach drive distributor converted to
electronic ignition, electronic radiator fan, fully fused wiring
system with electronic fuel pump, double battery system in trunk
with shut-off, ceramic coated side pipes, chrome heat guards, full
dash controls and smith style gauges, stereo system with 4-speakers
and Bluetooth stereo, full 4-point harness seat belts, full soft
top with tonneau cover, garage soft cover and more. Drive this one
out of our showroom or have us assist with shipping it to you
anywhere in the United States! Don't hesitate to give us a call
with any questions or for more information.
These Cobra's have quite an iconic histroy, in 1964, Shelby started
working on the Shelby Cobra 427, an even more extreme version
powered by a monstrous Ford big block 7-liter engine with around
450 bhp and over 600 Nm of torque. It was insane to put this kind
of power in such a light car, but Shelby was not the guy who cared
about the sanity of his vehicles. He rightfully thought that there
is no such thing as too much power and he was determined to build
an ultimate classic muscle car. Instaling a 427 V8 proved to be
more difficult and the Cobra body needed to be stretched and
widened with necessary improvements to the chassis and suspension.
The overall design remained the same, but although 289 and 427
Cobras looked very similar, none of the body panels, except for the
hood, trunk, and windshield, are interchangeable.
