This 1968 time capsule (very first year of the C3 Corvette series) has a very interesting history: It was built in St Louis, Missouri in 1968 (see original purchase order) and delivered in Silverstone Grey. Boasting all factory options, including power windows, power steering, 4-speed manual transmission with 1:3.55 ratio that still shifts like new, Positraction differential, rare 4 power disc brakes and air conditioning, it was owned in California until 1972.

It was then owned and driven 42,000 miles by the same person from 1972 till 1985, then had two owners in California from 1985 till 1994, when the odometer showed 80,580 miles.

In 1994 it was purchased by a professional Corvette restorer who undertook an incredibly thorough motor-off and body-off restoration documented with numerous pictures in the photo album still available. The car won its first Top Flight NCRS Award in 1999 with a close-to-perfect overall grade of 96.1/100 after being repainted in its Silverstone Silver factory color. It was sold in 2005 to another Corvette specialist who maintained it further like new.

In 2010, with 2,700 miles on the odometer, its new owner undertook a new overhaul to win a second Top Flight Award with another very high grade of 96/100 before being sold in 2011 to another Corvette restorer and professional car painter. He decided to repaint this one in its current stunning, sharp blue laid out perfectly evenly with a still super glossy coat upon a request by his loving wife.

I purchased this stunning beauty in 2020 when its owner decided to sell his whole collection.  The car passed the strict Maryland inspection with zero flaw and boasts a regular license plate.

The car was matching numbers when I purchased it but I had to have the carburetor replaced because its float kept making trouble. I kept the old one and will provide it.

Now that I have enjoyed and maintained this exhilarating US automotive monument in its perfect condition, I am selling it to start a new automotive project.
