The Saleen S281 version of the 2005 Mustang features many
significant and unique aspects that set it apart from other
Mustangs. These include:
- All-aluminum engine block and heads, making the front end
significantly lighter than the previous year's V8, which brings the
front-to-rear weight bias much closer to ideal. The reduced weight
on the nose improves handling and overall performance.
- Saleen's Unique and Functional Styling Cues: The S281 models took
styling cues from Saleen's flagship supercar, the S7. These include
a lower front grille opening, hood "vents," rocker panel side
skirts, a rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser.
- Advanced Suspension System: The S281 features an all-new
suspension system and special aluminum wheels designed to enhance
handling and overall performance.
- Interior Upgrades: The interior of the S281 was also upgraded,
featuring Saleen exclusives like unique gauges, satin aluminum
