This Dino GT #01846 was originally delivered to Crepaldi Automobili
of Milan, Italy originally Azzurro Dino with Nero Interior. Then
sold to its first owner Fusjama S.r.l. a real estate company in
Milan. (See Marcel Massini Report for entire history).
After a series of owners in Italy the Dino ends up in Miami, FL in
1978 repainted black and owned by Alan Deal, in Miami FL.
In 1988 01846 was sold to Ferdinand Hrosch known as "Ferda" a
master mechanic at Ferrari of Houston. The car was stored in a
storage container for a very long time before Ferda commenced on a
restoration to his desired specification. The Dino would be
restored over a long-term period and later transferred to Ferda's
lifelong friend before his passing. Interestingly the engine in the
car was swapped with the engine from chassis 01326 which was in the
same shop as 01846. So it now has a correct early M series engine
#06384. The gearbox is the original numbers matching unit #843 per
Marcel Massini's history report and the Scaglietti body number
"355" is found stamped on both door jamb plates, the coolant
reservoir mounting tab, and written on the rear fire wall cover
(pictured).
The restoration is a quality "driver" restoration to Ferda's liking
with added sound and heat padding under the engine lid and front
bonnet. The interior is nicely done beige Connelly leather, and the
paint remains in beautiful condition. The underside is equally tidy
and the engine compartment has been nicely detailed. Recent service
in 2023/2024 included mounting new Michelin XWX tires, Rebuild of
the brake booster, Repair electronic ignition, oil/filter change
and a 40 Hour detailing including steaming cleaning of the
underside.
