This is an incredible opportunity to own a pristine 1971 Toyota
Land Cruiser FJ-40. Fully disassembled and completely refinished or
rebuilt with the goal of originality throughout makes this a
reference-grade restoration. All mechanicals including the engine,
transfer case, front and rear differentials, suspension were all
rebuilt to perform to spec. New top, new wiring, the list goes on
and on. Even the gauges have been restored. It truly must be seen
to be appreciated.
The FJ Series LandCruisers are legendary off-road vehicles that
have a strong following among collectors and off-roading
enthusiasts. This boxy, rugged vehicle was designed to conquer any
terrain, making it a favorite among adventurers and those with a
taste for the great outdoors.
One of the key points of the FJ-40 is its simplicity and
durability. It features a robust 4.2-liter 2F inline-6 engine,
which is renowned for its reliability and power. The engine is
paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, and it comes equipped
with true 4WD with a "granny low", making it an off-road beast. The
FJ-40's body-on-frame construction and solid front and rear axles
contribute to its reputation for being nearly indestructible.
The 1971 FJ-40 boasts a wheelbase of 90 inches, and it has a
seating capacity of four. It features a rugged, utilitarian
interior, with an emphasis on function over form. The exterior
dimensions are 155.7 inches in length, 66.5 inches in width, and
75.6 inches in height. The curb weight of the vehicle is
approximately 3,263 pounds, which is much lighter than many
later-model 4x4 vehicles. The combination of its reliability,
relatively short wheelbase, light weight, and steep approach and
departure angles are the reasons the FJ-40 is among the most
capable off-roading vehicles ever made.
From an investment viewpoint, what makes an FJ-40 so desirable is
that it appeals to a wide range of people, from collectors and
off-roading enthusiasts to those who simply appreciate its iconic
status in the automotive world.
