Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is proud to present this beautiful 1966
Chevrolet El Camino for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. In
October of 1958, Chevrolet began to sell a car-truck hybrid that
was known as the El Camino. Inspired by the Ford Ranchero, which
had already been on the market for two years, the El Camino was a
combination sedan-pickup truck built on the Impala body, with the
same "cat eye" taillights and dramatic rear fins.
Here is a vehicle that's game for practically anything. The El
Camino is more than just a dual-purpose vehicle. It is, by its very
design, endowed with a streak of versatility that enables it to
step gracefully into dozens of roles. With a spacious pickup box,
crisp Chevelle styling and a long list of options, the El Camino
can be both a pickup, passenger car, and everything in between.
Once you take a seat inside, you'll love what you see! The bench
seat is finished in a medium blue imitation leather with dark blue
velour inserts that is in excellent shape. Looking around the
cabin, the blue headliner is fully intact, and the dark blue
carpets are also in great condition. The two-spoke steering wheel
frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer (with a Mallory RPM
tachometer), fuel gauge, and an analogy working clock. There is an
optional set of gauges that show oil pressure, volts, and water
temp. Additional interior upgrades include a JVC AM/FM/CD player,
Sony Xplod speakers, and a Kicker sub. Knobs for the lights, wiper,
and lighter are functioning.
This El Camino left the factory finished in Marina Blue and ours
has had a respray. The bed is lined with a black textured coating,
and exterior features have El Camino badging, chrome grille, and
rocker panel trim for bumpers and window surrounds. All bright work
is in excellent condition. She rolls on15-inch Cragar SS wheels
with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's, 215/60R15 on the front and
275/60R15's on the rear.
Under the hood the engine compartment is nicely sprayed in a matte
black finish. It features a GM crate 350 V8, 5.7 liter (10243880)
with a 700R4 speed automatic transmission. Upgrades include
aluminum radiator, dual electric fans (and dual electric pusher
fans), power brakes, power steering, and Vintage Air. Sniper EFT
electric fuel injection, Hooker long tube headers, and an Edelbrock
midrise intake. Additional upgrades are the Hotchkis sport
suspension, front tubular upper and lower a-arms, and a upgraded
performance harmonic balancer.
