The 993-generation 911 Turbo is widely considered the best of all
worlds; classic 911 styling combined with Porsche's superb
turbocharged performance and legendary reliability. The "M64/60"
engine, new to the 993 series, was a 3.6-liter alloy-cased,
dry-sump design with two valves per cylinder. Compression was set
at 8:1 to safely accommodate the boost provided by a pair of K16
turbochargers, the first such application of this layout since the
iconic Porsche 959. These were partnered with full-width air-to-air
intercoolers and wastegates located below the fixed rear spoiler.
The result was mind-bending performance, with 400 horsepower on tap
and a claimed 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds. As Porsche's final
air-cooled driving machine, the 993-generation 911 Turbo is, and
will likely always be, one of the most highly sought after members
of the 911 family.
Finished in the thrilling hue of Arena Red Metallic and
complemented by a Cashmere Beige/Black full leather interior, not
only does this all-wheel-drive Porsche Turbo a pleasure to behold,
but it offers supercar over-the-road performance. Delivered with an
optional six-disc CD changer and "X-Code" Aluminum/Chrome accents
(X71- Aluminum Painted Instrument Dials with Brushed Chrome Inner
Rings, X70 - Door Entrance Panels in Stainless Steel with Porsche
Insignia, X54 - Oval Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipes), this example
retains a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report confirming its
remarkable 191,378 miles shown at cataloging to be original.
Acquired by the current owner circa 2000 showing fewer than 8,000
miles, they have cherished and diligently maintained the Turbo for
over two decades, with the car's original warranty book documenting
frequent visits to Auto Strasse Corp. (formerly Porsche Strasse) of
Costa Mesa, California. Invoices on file also document a major
engine-out service/reseal performed by Newport Auto Center of Costa
Mesa (a certified Porsche dealership) in 2015 at 188,669 miles,
costing a total of $12,651.09.
Today, the paintwork presents beautifully thanks to a professional
repaint in its factory-original shade of Arena Red Metallic by
Jerry Marquis of Costa Mesa - receipts for which are also on file.
Inside, the front seats have been renewed in their original
Cashmere-colored hides, and an aftermarket Continental head unit
has been installed (the original CR-210 radio and CDC-3 CD Disc
changer are included in the sale).
When new, the 911 Turbo was lauded by critics as being, as one
author claimed, "The last complete modern classic." Offered from
over two decades of enthusiast ownership, this 911 Turbo is
