For Sale: 1956 Ford Country Squire in Downington, Pennsylvania
This beautiful 1956 Country Squire Wagon is equipped with automatic
transmission, power steering, modern 4 wheel disc brake dual master
cylinder (power brake system) and a McCullogh/Paxton (VR-57)
supercharger. This country squire wagon has its original Factory
optional Thunderbird 292 Engine 292 with a McCullough VS-57
supercharger. These centrifugal superchargers were produced
throughout the 1950's by the Paxton/McCullough Company and by the
mid-fifties were offered as an aftermarket or dealer installed
option. In 1957 Ford offered a similar factory installed
McCullogh/Paxton (VR-57) supercharger on Thunderbirds. This is
known as the ''F, option. The blower was reported to increase
horsepower by around 40%. Engine: 292 cubic inch (4.8 L) Y-block V8
engine Transmission: Factory optional Ford-O-Matic automatic
transmission The 1956 Ford Country Squire was a 4-door station
wagon featuring a distinctive wood-paneled exterior, which was a
signature design element of the Country Squire line. The vehicle
could typically accommodate up to six or eight passengers,
depending on the seating configuration. This Country Squire
featured an independent front suspension with coil springs and a
live rear axle with leaf springs, providing a comfortable ride for
passengers. The 1956 Ford Country Squire remains a beloved classic
