The 1957 Ford Thunderbird remains one of the most recognized
Collector Cars in America today, admired by collectors, enthusiasts
and everyone else. The car presented at auction was subjected to a
complete, body on, high end restoration.
Drive Train - The numbers matching 312 V-8 was professionally
rebuilt and runs strong and smooth. The Fordamatic Transmission and
Rear-end, also original to the car, were rebuilt at the same time.
The car maintains rebuilt braking and suspension components with
drum brakes all around.
Exterior - The car was subjected to a complete body restoration
will all panels presenting smooth and body lines looking good. New
weather stripping/trim was installed. All stainless was buffed and
polished to a shine. Decorative pieces and other components were
replaced with new where needed and the bumpers were re-chromed and
shine bright. The hardtop looks excellent and present with Original
FoMoCo script glass. The current color is not original to the car,
but is a period correct Ford Thunderbird paint color.
Interior - The interior is completely new to the car and
complements the striking chrome dash. From the two-tone black/white
upholstery's, the padded dashboard and the metallic trim elements,
it all looks upscale inside the T-Bird. Rebuilt seats, new carpet
and a new headliner in the hardtop invite the drive and passenger
to climb in. An aftermarket radio was installed. The soft top is
the Hartz Cloth top that greatly enhances the look of the car. In
addition, the car has the snap on "tonneau" cover.
This is an extremely nice car showing pride of ownership. The
current owner has owned the car since 2019, having acquired the car
from the gentleman who completed the restoration(having restored
many 1950s Fords over his years). This car will not disappoint.
